Lunch with Pauline & The Peeps, I'm starting to think this might turn into another one of those recurring things, since we also did one last year (in April 2024) and this year's this time in June.
Actually Pauline rode with me, and we were the first to arrive. We actually got there "on time," so technically every one else was late, but naturally in the unwritten Thai timing rule, it's always plus at least 15 minutes -- and so, on a "Thai technically", everyone else was also "on time". We were quickly followed by Mint, who arrived basically 2 minutes after we did, very honourable, as she lives the farthest! And then after some time Turter arrived. Then it took Pare & Dean about a millenia to arrive, and so we were pretty hungry by the time they got here. Still, at least there was no queue.
We had lunch at the Shabu Barru, at the Central Embassy, much like the last time when I did my birthday lunch, though all guest faces are completely different! No, but in all seriousness, I actually did invite Pam-Pam and Prue and whatnot, even Angel, but they were all not free! Prue busy with a job interview I think....so all good luck with that! Pam-Pam had summer classes (of course with them Chula kids always!!), and Angel had a dental appointment.. Oh well, better luck next time!
Another thing we did different from last time was that this time we got the private(ish) back room, rather than sit in the main dining hall, but well this was a Friday, and last time was a weekend, so yup. Well hey at least there's no time limit on weekdays! On the weekends they limit you to 90 minutes or less, but I think today we sat around for something like 3 hours absolutely chatting away about what's been going on and all that what the current situation of the world, Pauline's new business (what logos or design work she wanted help from Dean with -- or "pit the exes against each other" -- only those who went gonna get this joke!!) , gossip about other people and etc... so i twas a great and great catching up time!
